Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  I hope you find it informative and easy to navigate. In many ways, our goal for your use of our website reflects Assigned Counsel’s business model: ease of use, quality and efficient.

In 1992, my partners and I started Assigned Counsel without a template.  Temporary or contract lawyers were unknown to most of the legal community. With experience as corporate general counsel and law firm partners, we knew, from the user perspective, the value of temporary lawyers.  For clients, we could provide practice-area experienced attorneys on a timely, cost-effective and user-determined need basis.  For our candidates, we could provide access to engagements and income for which they could demonstrate their expertise without the need for mass marketing their skills.

For the past twenty years, we have refined our methods and expanded the territory served.  We take advantage of state-of-the-art technology to speed our candidate search and resume delivery process.   We are “green” in minimizing our carbon imprint, notably through our e-Time reporting for secured tallying, reporting, approval and tracking of temporary attorney time.   From our first office in the Delaware Valley, we have expanded to Metropolitan New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco.  We have also found that not only corporate law departments, but also law firms, government agencies and nonprofits have occasions when a temporary lawyer is the best solution for a legal service need.

Assigned Counsel’s years in business and development beyond our base has, however, not changed our core service.  We only provide lawyers.  Our lawyers are sourced to engagements on a temporary or temp-to-hire basis.  In order to excel, we need to exceed expectations and, for us, this means executing in a focused, outstanding manner.

I want to thank every client who has allowed us to be of service to them.  I also want to thank all of the candidates whose professionalism has earned Assigned Counsel recognition for being the “go-to” resource for contract attorney services.
