Alisa Austin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1984. She was in the top 10% of her class and a member of the Order of the Coif. She was also a Research Editor on the Georgia Law Review. In addition, she has a B.S. degree in the Administration of Justice from the American University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Alisa attended both schools on academic scholarships. Upon law school graduation, Alisa entered the U.S. Department of Justice's Honor Program and worked in the Civil Division. Thereafter, she practiced in the area of employment law with the law firm of Seyfarth, Shaw, Fairweather & Geraldson in Washington, DC. Alisa then authored employment law advisories for the Research Institute of America. Since 1996, Alisa has been the Recruiting Attorney for the Washington, DC office of Assigned Counsel, Inc.
