How Assigned Counsel Found a Remote Attorney Solution for a Top Tech Manufacturer

The Challenge

Our client, a leading technology manufacturer located in the Southwest, needed an attorney with in-depth experience in specific federal acquisition regulations relating to their defense and aerospace customers. The nature of the undertaking required someone with extensive experience capable of working in a fast-paced environment. From Assigned Counsel’s previous interactions with this client, they knew that the client preferred to hire local candidates who could work onsite.

The Solution

As Assigned Counsel sourced candidates, they found that there were relatively few local candidates with the requisite experience. The search, however, revealed that well-qualified candidates existed in other parts of the country.

Assigned Counsel communicated this market intelligence to the client. After reconsidering their approach, the client decided to review resumes from non-local candidates.  They were particularly impressed with the qualifications of a candidate who lived a few states away. After interviewing the candidate, they were further impressed by her personality and decided to hire her on a temporary basis as their first remote attorney.

The Results

The candidate’s performance confirmed that working remotely was not an impediment. The client was so pleased with her work product that, within a few months, they decided to convert her to a permanent role with the company – still working remotely.

Assigned Counsel continues to have a stellar relationship with this client, placing remote temporary attorneys with backgrounds ranging from privacy law to real estate leasing.  The client appreciates Assigned Counsel’s market insights and trusts Assigned Counsel to find the best-qualified candidates, wherever they live.
