Request and Discussion

Contact us by form, email or phone to request an attorney. An Assigned Counsel team member at our attorney temp agency will reach out to discuss the details of the assignment, including:

  • Skills desired and description of work
  • Practice Area (s) needed
  • Qualifications and licensing requirements
  • Experience level (5-7 years+, 7-10 years+)
  • On-site or remote, time zone preference?
  • Estimated project length and hours needed
  • Company culture


An Assigned Counsel Recruiting Attorney at our temporary legal agency will expeditiously:

  • Search for suitable candidates
  • Review resumes
  • Conduct initial interviews
  • Perform credential check
You will receive only the resumes for the candidates who are most qualified for your assignment.

Attorney Interview

Once you’ve reviewed the resumes and decide which candidate(s) to interview, we help schedule the interviews.


After you select a candidate for the assignment, we perform reference checks and background check and send you our services agreement, based on acceptance of attorney rate.

  • Candidate is on-boarded as a W-2 employee of Assigned Counsel.
  • We notify you that candidate is ready to start (typically within 3-5 business days).

Placement and Follow-Up

While your temporary attorney is working for you, work is done at your control and discretion. You are given access to our ‘green’ electronic billing and payroll system:

  • Candidates submit their hours to you for approval every week.
  • We pay the candidate(s) and bill you, using those same approved hours.
  • Your Assigned Counsel Business Manager will check in with you regularly to make sure you are satisfied with the candidate(s).
